Due to direct activity limits, there was an increase in the number of internet and social media users during the pandemic. The goal of this research was to find out what Indonesian internet users thought about the policy of using rapid antigen tests as a requirement for domestic travel. Self medication is common in medical students, including in treating AV. This study aimed to determine the behavioural characteristics of using over the counter (OTC) products for acne-prone skin in medical students in Jakarta. Methods: This was a cross-sectional observational study in 100 medical students with AV. The study was conducted by using questionnaires consisting of clinical survey, medications, and use of OTC products. The clinical assessment of the severity of AV was determined with the Global Acne Grading System (GAGS) criteria. Results: Sixty-nine study subjects only used OTC products for their acne management. The most common OTC product was facial cleanser, which is facial soap (89 subjects) and cleansing oil (29 subjects). Fifty-percent of the study subjects did not know the active ingredients in the products, 15% used benzoyl peroxide, 13% topical retinoid, and 12% nicotinamide. Conclusion: Self medication with OTC products for acne-prone skin is frequent in medical students in Jakarta, and the most commonly used product is facial cleanser. Most study subjects did not know the active ingredients in the OTC products that they use.
2022-12-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2022 Damianus Journal of Medicine THE CORRELATION BETWEEN NUTRITIONAL STATUS AND CD8+ T CELL LEVELS IN THE ELDERLY AFTER THE COVID-19 VACCINATION IN PALEMBANG, INDONESIA 2022-12-13T02:34:01+07:00 Khoirun Mukhsinin Putra
The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. WHO officially declared it a pandemic on March 9, 2020. The COVID-19 vaccine has been widely used to control the pandemic, but special attention is needed to some high-risk factors that can affect the vaccine's effectiveness. Elderly patients are 60 years old and have a higher risk of COVID-19. There is a decrease in CD8+ T cell levels due to the involution of the thymus and changes in the cortex and medulla tissue into fat tissue. In addition, malnutrition causes decreased levels of CD8+ T cells. This study aims to determine the correlation between nutritional status and CD8+ T cell levels in elderly patients after COVID-19 vaccination. This research is a pilot study with a cross-sectional design. A consecutive sampling technique did the sampling. On day 28, after the second vaccine, the Mini Nutritional Assessment (MNA) and the number of CD8+ T cells in the blood were used to check the nutrition status. From May through November 2021, 40 subjects were collected. The average CD8+ T cell level in the elderly was 517.32±41.67. As a result, 5 people (12.5%) were at risk of malnutrition, while the normal nutritional status was 35 (87.5%). Correlation analysis showed that MNA and CD8+ levels had a significant correlation (P < 0.05). There is a correlation between nutritional status and CD8+ T cell levels in elderly patients after COVID-19 vaccination in Palembang.

Keywords: Elderly, COVID-19 Vaccination, CD8+ T Cells, Nutritional Status
2022-12-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2022 Damianus Journal of Medicine Tumor Wilms Asimptomatik pada Anak 2022-09-13T17:51:57+07:00 Nicodemus Suwandy
Introduction: Wilms tumor is one of the malignancies frequently found in children, especially children under five years. It is frequently found incidentally by parents or caregivers who notice a lump in the abdomen.

Case :This case reported Wilms tumor found incidentally in an 8-year-old boy. The patient presented with complaints of right lower quadrant pain accompanied by nausea, vomiting and fever. Tenderness and leukocytosis were also found in right lower quadrant. Initial suspicion led to acute appendicitis, however, physical examination also found a mass in the right upper quadrant the patient did not complain of. An abdominal CT scan showed the mass in the right kidney, suggesting a Wilms tumor. The patient underwent surgery.

Discussion : Based on the intraoperative findings of“spillage” and anatomical pathology of “favorable”, the patient was categorized as having stage III favorable Wilms tumor. The incidence of hypertension and obesity increased in recent decades. Obesity is used as risk factors or indicators of hypertension. The objective of this study is to compare the risk of general and central obesity to the hypertension in 26-45 years adult in the District of Cisauk, Tangerang Regency.
Methods: We performed a cross-sectional study, in 26-45 years adult of both sexes with general obesity (body mass index/BMI ≥ 25 kg / m2) and central obesity (waist to height ratio/WtHR >0.50). Each group was 88 subjects collected by using non-probability sampling technique with consecutive sampling method. Body weight, height, waist circumference, and blood pressure were measured in each subject.
Results: Of the 176 adults studied, 26 (14.8%) early adults (26-35 years) while 63 (35.8%) late adults (36-45 years) had hypertension. Prevalence of hypertension in men were 13.6% (24) and women were 36.9% (120). Subjects with a family history of hypertension and currently experiencing hypertension were 52 (29.5%) and 37 (21.0%) without a family history of hypertension. Subjects with family history of hypertension have 2.7 times risk for hypertension than subjects without family history (OR (CI 95%) =2.670 (1.450 –4.919)). Subjects with general obesity significantly have 0.5 times risk for hypertension than subjects without general obesity (OR (CI95%) = 0.457 (0.250 –0.835), p=0.016) and subjects with central obesity have 0.5 times risk for hypertension than subjects without cetral obesity (OR (CI 95%) =0.489 (0.420 –0.569), p=0.243).
Conclusion: The result suggest that the risk of hypertension in general obesity is as strong as in central obesity, based on this result, the health professional can assign obese people and identify the risk of hypertension by calculate BMI or WtHR.
Key Words: body mass index; central obesity; general obesity; hypertension; waist to height ratio.
2022-12-31T00:00:00+07:00 Copyright (c) 2022 Damianus Journal of Medicine HUBUNGAN ANTARA PENGGUNAAN ZAT DAN KUALITAS HIDUP PADA SISWA SMA DENGAN RISIKO GANGGUAN BIPOLAR DI KELURAHAN PENJARINGAN JAKARTA UTARA 2022-12-11T12:06:40+07:00 Josephine Emerencia Stephanie Sudirman Dr. dr.
